The rivers that meander through New Braunfels harbor a handful of summer activities for people of all ages to enjoy. Swimming, tubing, rafting, and fishing are some of the most popular pastimes to savor. There are many outfitters all along the river that offer equipment and transportation for daily outings on the water. A new favorite river activity is Stand-up Paddle Boarding; which is a healthy, fun, and relaxing way to spend your day outside!

Schlitterbahn, translated from German to mean “Slippery Road”, is a notoriously exciting waterpark resort based in New Braunfels with other locations in Texas and one in Kansas City. As the original waterpark, Schlitterbahn is a cornucopia of intense waterslides, rides, lazy rivers, and pools for children (and the kid inside of us all). This amazing summer getaway can only be experienced from April through September so plan accordingly!

Downtown New Braunfels is well known for its restaurants, bars, and nightlife. Whatever it is that you and your friends are craving - you can find it in downtown. Historic Gruene is an area of New Braunfels that shouldn’t be missed. Restaurants and music venues such as The Gristmill and Gruene Hall are hot spots for anyone in town as well as the many shops and boutiques. After a long day of exploring this historic area, you can even visit a few wineries that can please even the most sophisticated of palettes!

Live Music is found everywhere in New Braunfels. Whether it’s open mic night at the Pour Haus, a headliner at River Road Ice House, or an acoustic lineup at one of the many bars - you will be sure to find a venue for your mood. Many well known Texas Country Artists perform regularly in the area such as Randy Rogers, Cody Canada, JB and the Moonshine Band, Mickey and The Motorcars, or Haley Cole.
